Welcome to a new idea
Scientific Living will help you capture your students’ interest in Earth Science with short digital movie clips highlighting and demonstrating key science topics. The videos are designed to be integrated into existing lessons, and include related teacher materials to help facilitate student discussion.
Scientific Living is a pilot program made possible in part by a grant from the Cisco Systems Foundation in partnership with the Rock River Foundation. The first module is about Space Science, produced with the collaboration of NASA scientists. If successful, Scientific Living will continue with additional units on other topics.
The video clips and teacher resource materials in Scientific Living are designed to be user friendly for teachers and students. Teachers can show a clip to the whole class to start a discussion, or students can access the media by themselves using the “Students Click Here” button at the top left of this page.
The Connecticut Education Network is proud to house these materials and make them available to Connecticut teachers and students.
Browse the movie pages on the left margin and try them with your students. Then please let us know what you think about them by completing the very short Feedback Form. If these resources are beneficial to Connecticut teachers and students, we’ll seek ways to offer additional Scientific Living modules.
