| The mission of the administration of health care in the
regions is to assure optimal health care of children in the care and custody of the
Department. This includes the medical, mental health and substance abuse aspects of health
care. The administration of health care in the regions is overseen by the Central Office
Health Management Unit and operationalized in the regions through regional resource
individuals and groups including medical, mental health and substance abuse professionals,
and through regional managers and staff.
The administration of health care in the regions involves:
the development and implementation of standards, policies and procedures of
health care
the training of regional resource individuals and groups and of regional staff in
health care issues, and
the supervision of regional resource individuals and groups and of regional staff
regarding health care issues.
