Selection of Adoptive Family
| Introduction | Upon completion of the assessment of a child free for
adoption, the adoption specialists should have an understanding and knowledge of the child
and begin to identify an adoptive family based on the needs of the child. Placement options should include relatives (including godparents), foster parents and non-related adoptive parents. Final selection of a prospective adoptive home by an adoption specialist shall be made through the process of shared decision-making involving a regional (or sub-regional) Permanency Planning Team. |
