| Request for Hearing | Requests for a hearing shall be submitted in writing to the Department of Children and Families, Hearings, Central Office, Hartford, CT. |
| Written Notice | The written notice of denial, reduction or termination of a subsidy must be done by the Department at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of any such action. |
| No Modification Until the Final Decision | Any subsidy granted to an adopting or adoptive parent(s) must continue without modification until publication of a final decision by the Adoption Subsidy Review Board. |
| When Is There no Hearing | CONN. GEN. STAT. §17a-117 and 17a-120, require that the
periodic subsidy be terminated on the child's eighteenth (18) birthday and the medical
subsidy be terminated on the child's twenty-first (21) birthday. Note: Any decision affecting a subsidy may be appealed to the Adoption Subsidy Review Board. However, under these conditions, the Board would uphold discontinuance in compliance with State Statute. |
