46-3-21.2 Poor Reasons to Delay Filing for TPR
The following are poor reasons to delay filing for TPR:
the treatment plan and/or the permanency plan calls for reunification
the possibility of consent to TPR or transfer of guardianship, without actual agreement with both parents
transfer of the case
time (or lack thereof) to write the petition
parents beginning to visit again
the child is having problems in placement, or
