TPR: Developing Strong Termination Cases
| Suggestions
for Developing Strong Termination Cases |
The
following are suggestions for developing strong termination cases:
-
establish
clear expectations and appropriate specific steps for both parents
-
adjust
expectations and specific steps for both parents as circumstances
change
-
assure
parents are given the opportunity for services they need and that
services are available
-
have
both parents sign releases for all service providers
-
keep
in close contact with service providers
-
keep
good records concerning parental visits and contacts, and quality of
interaction with the child, and
- have
an initial consultation with a Principal Attorney or Staff
Attorney with additional consults as necessary.
