Relocation Status

Relocation Status Relocation is the placement of a child at Long Lane School for the best interest of the child while an alternative placement is being developed, mitigating a need for a hearing if not in excess of thirty (30) days.

If a child is on relocation status, he shall be expected to participate fully in the Long Lane program until an alternative placement is made.

Placement Planning The parole services staff are responsible for placement planning and other services to the child while he is on relocation status.

The parole officer is responsible for placing the child in an aftercare facility within thirty (30) days.

The parole services supervisor and the assistant superintendent's office shall monitor the relocation period.

Termination of Relocation Status While on relocation status, upon request of the child, Long Lane School staff or the parole officer, a Parole Revocation Hearing will be held and a recommendation to terminate the child's parole status may be made for the following reasons:

•the child is a runaway from Long Lane School
•subsequent court adjudication
•refusing placement or other appropriate treatment plan considerations
•reasonable efforts to find a prospective placement option for the child have been unseccessful.

The child's relocation status will terminate as a result of a finding of a violation of conditions.

Notification to Child The child shall be notified in writing of the conditions by which his relocation status may be terminated and of the right to a Parole Revocation Hearing.
