CHILD PROTECTIVE INVESTIGATIONS

Entrance to Clients Home
| Policy |
When making a home visit, unless the child is in imminent
danger of severe physical harm, the investigator shall enter the clients home only
if a parent, guardian, or other adult is present, even when invited in by the child. When
necessary, the investigator shall call the police to assist in entering the home. |
| Police Assistance |
The investigator shall request police assistance to enter the
home in the following situations:
- when a child is left in the home unattended and there is concern for the childs
safety
- when access to the home is being denied by the parent, guardian, or other adult, and the
investigator
- suspects that the child may be in imminent danger of severe physical harm
- has obtained a 96-hour hold or Order of Temporary Custody.
